Late Lama Karma Phuntsok (1962 - 2013)

Lama Karma Phuntsok entered Kalu Rinpoche’s monastery in Sonada India at a young age. After completing the traditional three year, three month retreat at Sonada, he held different jobs, helping with the monastery’s administration and activities. In 2007, Lama Phuntsok came to Canada to serve as the Resident Teacher at KDOL. In the short time that he was here, he worked tirelessly to improve all aspects of the retreat centre. His outgoing and sunny personality made him beloved among all who knew him and we were deeply saddened at his sudden passing in December of 2013. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness and generosity by the many students he helped, both at KDOL and KKC.
