Getting to KDOL

There are two ferries from the Vancouver Tsawwassen Terminal sailing to Salt Spring Island. We recommend taking ‘Swartz Bay’ ferry and transfer to a second ferry at Swartz Bay sailing to Fulford Harbour on Salt Spring Island. The complete journey takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes with the connecting ferry taking approximately 30 minutes. When purchasing your ticket inform them that your final destination is Fulford Harbour and you need a “thru fare”.

If you are driving

We suggest that you reserve your ferry ticket in advance online at bcferries.com. The website only allows bookings to Swartz Bay. When checking in and paying for your fare they will adjust your ticket price after telling them that you need a “thru fare to Fulford Harbour”. They will also provide instructions for the “loop” and how to exit the ferry terminal at Swartz Bay and re-enter for boarding the connecting ferry sailing to Fulford Harbour. You must checkin no later than 30 minutes prior to departure.
Drivers Note: The drive up Mt. Tuam to KDOL takes about a 30 minutes. Be aware that it is easy to get lost, and cars have difficulty with the rough and unpaved terrain. You can follow the Google map directions and look for the blue arrows nailed to trees at all road forks. Unless you know the way it is advised to take the KDOL shuttle.
